Impulsive: Impulse Generator

Impulsive produces short bursts of noise suited for use with an FIR impulse
response processor, such as the
SIR reverb unit. Effects including thickening, mild
chorus, frequency-dependent, panning, echos and reverb can be created this way.

Impulsive is a pink noise generator sent through a ten-band filter bank to a simple envelope gate.  Playing any MIDI note will generate the burst, which can be, for example, saved to a .WAV file and loaded into the SIR reverb unit.

The overall tuning and resonance of the filters can be adjusted, in the Adjust section.

The Stereo Filter Bank has two sections: the top section  selects the frequency boundaries between each band. The values cascade, so altering an F knob will affect all other frequencies with knobs to the right. The section underneath sets the level and pan of each frequency band.

The Impulse section has knobs for Attach and Decay, and for Velocity. The large knob sets the output volume.

The current demo is very rough: first comes a dry sound (a simple sequence using Ricko-3A) then variations on this put throught the SIR Impulse Response processor using various impulses generated by Impulsive. These range from thickening to reverb to attacking echos. (Various click are caused by poor editing or loading new Impulses into SIR.)
